The BTAA prides itself on being the first point of contact for our industry; providing advice and guidance for companies and offer an Advisory service for overseas companies. For over a hundred years Walsall people have been making some of the world's finest saddles and leather goods. Walsall Leather Museum seeks to celebrate this great tradition and reflect the achievements of the leather craftsmen and women of Walsall.
In our atmospheric workshops you can watch skilled leather workers in the process of hand-crafting leathergoods such as wallets and purses and perhaps have-a-go yourself. The displays around the museum tell the stories of the Walsall leather trade and feature splendid examples of local craftsmanship past and present, including saddles made for the Royal Family and exciting contemporary designs.
Walsall is still home to over ninety leather companies between them making an astonishing variety of items which are exported to most parts of the world

All Africa Leather goods fair The Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA) is a non-profit trade association of the leather industries businesses. ELIA works with the objective of enhancing and improving the leather industries business climate by promoting export of shoes, leather goods and garments and leather, protecting the rights of members, and assisting businesses to improve.
ELIA was first founded in 1994 as the Ethiopian Tanners Association. In the year 2004 the name was changed to the Ethiopian Tanners, Footwear and Leather Products Manufacturing Association to allow footwear and leather garments and articles manufacturers full participation in the Association.
The name was again changed, as of January 2007 to the Ethiopian Leather Industries Association (ELIA). ELIA Incorporates as its members Footwear, Leather Garments & Goods and Tanners operating in the country.

The Warehousing Association Established in 1944, when the Government of the day asked for representatives from warehousing companies to form a Committee to discuss the storage and distribution of food and materials in wartime Britain, the Association was originally known as the National Association of Inland Warehouse Keepers - a body formed to protect and further the interests of public warehouse keepers conducting businesses outside the major ports. After the war, the name was changed in 1952 with the omission of the word "Inland" as many members by then were also operating facilities within the ports. In 1982, the British Public Warehouse Keepers Committee merged with the National Association of Warehouse Keepers, further strengthening the Association's representational base. |
