I have learnt so much this week and the teaching methods of Christine and Amanda at the Leatherwise course are such that they make what is a very technical process, very enjoyable to learn and the knowledge stays with you. You come away with wonderful learning material and examples of the leather the group has made in the week. Plus along with learning the tanning process the characteristics of the different leathers, possible problems and testing methods are also covered, so you leave after 5 days with a very rounded appreciation of leather. "I am writing as a recent new member of the BTAA under the manufacturing section, but would like to relay the experiences I have had over the last few months since joining as a new company about to be launched in this sector. I am from the electronics industry previously so it was a surprise to find so much help from one Association under one roof.
I do understand that such organisations have to be good value, but the BTAA go above and beyond in their support to members. Both the chairman and the CEO Diana Fiveash have been incredible with the support despite attending trade exhibitions at the same time. Full marks to there back-up team and the webmaster.
