BTAA Win Chamber of Commerce/Business Link Award
The Chairman of the BTAA is delighted to inform all members that the BTAA was presented with an Award for the company which has been most successful in adopting eBusiness at the annual Business Club awards held in Birmingham. The event was organised by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Business Link.

The Award Nomination
BTAA is a trade association serving the leather and luggage industries. Traditionally membership has been focussed on manufacturers and wholesalers. The BTAA made a decision to re-launch the association, and a key element of this re-launch was to be an extensive new membership campaign aided by a new web site. In addition to attracting new manufacturer and wholesale members they decided to initiate a new membership scheme for retailers. One of the key selling points of this retail membership drive has been the attractiveness of the new site to consumers, and it is now seen as one of the best places to find information on what and where to purchase luggage and leather goods.
One of the things that made BTAA stand out is the structured approach they took to the project. Before awarding the contract they spent some time considering the business aims and the target audience, along with the design and functionality of the web site. These discussions resulted in the production of a detailed invitation to tender. The success of the web site has been a major factor in its continued revival of the association.
