ABOUT US

The BTAA is the voice of the Fashion and travel accessories, travelgoods, luggage and leathergoods industry.  It has provided strong leadership for the industry for many years and today, perhaps more than ever before, is involved in taking those decisions which will shape the industry's future.  We have been in existence since 1918 and work tirelessly on behalf of our members and the industry.

The BTAA changed its name from the BLLA (British Luggage and Leathergoods Association) in January, 2006 to more accurately represent its members interests.

The BTAA is a non for profit making trade association, which works tirelessly to represent its member companies, large and small, involved in all aspects of the industry.  Our members retail, design, manufacture, supply, and repair everything from handbags, travelgoods, luggage to specialist leather gifts and accessories. Whether you are a start-up company, a  supplier, retailer or consumer this is the site for all your enquiries.

The BTAA assists its members from the beginning of design through to manufacturing and helps them network with the retailers.   We are here and are known in the industry as the place to go for information and assistance, to network with the industry. BTAA provides it's members with a wide range of bespoke business services, specifically geared towards the industry and designed to save money.  It also offers the opportunity for members to meet together to discuss matters of mutual concern.   It lobbies Government on issues close to heart and makes sure that the views of its members are heard.

Recently the BTAA were presented with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce 'E' business award for it's website and we are proud to be keeping this updated on a weekly basis.

The BTAA works closely with trade journals Fashion Extras, Attire and Drapers Record and includes articles on members and the industry regularly.
